Art and Churches in the Wittinger Land and in the Altmark near Diesdorf

The author and city historian Kurt-Ulrich Blomberg will present his volume V of the Wittinger city history, published in December 2025, on this evening: "Art and Churches in the Wittinger Land and in the Altmark around Diesdorf." In a photo presentation, artworks from the Middle Ages to modern times from a total of 15 churches in the 'Wittinger Land' and the Altmark around Diesdorf will be showcased on both sides of the "green belt." The focus will be on the presentation of carved, gilded, and colorfully framed altar pieces, frescoes, and artworks from the 19th and 20th centuries. Additionally, there will be architectural historical explanations regarding the fieldstone churches of the Altmark and the Wittinger Land, the monastery church in Diesdorf, and the archdeaconry church in Wittingen.
