The Bruckner House Linz

Like hardly any other concert hall, the Brucknerhaus Linz is, in the best sense of the word, a "sound body." With its simple yet striking floor plan in the shape of a circular segment, the building designed by the Finnish architect couple Kaija and Heikki Sirén not only harmoniously resonates within the terrain that connects the city center and the Danube, but it also embodies the fundamental tone for the stages and auditoriums of the Great and Medium Halls inside, mimicking the arrangement of an orchestra. The Brucknerhaus is expressive, it is singing architecture! It is therefore fitting that this year, on Heritage Day, it takes the stage itself: through sounds, conversations, architectural tours, and some remarkable surprises, the Bruckner Festival Linz, in collaboration with the Federal Monuments Office, invites everyone to (re)discover the impressively obvious as well as the surprisingly unknown aspects of this unique building.
