Maypole Erection in Borgholzhausen

Every year on May 1st, the Maypole is erected in the garden of the Schulze Ladencafé in Borgholzhausen. Participants from all twelve districts gather after a star tour to attach their district signs to the Maypole. A musical program accompanies the event and heralds the arrival of spring. For refreshments, there will be a grill and beverage cart, as well as the Schulze Ladencafé offering coffee and cake. The schedule includes the start of the star hike at the Ravensberger Stadium, a joint parade through the city, the entry of the districts into the garden of the Schulze Ladencafé, the attachment of the district signs to the Maypole, the erection of the Maypole by the volunteer fire department of Borgholzhausen, as well as the official opening and welcoming speeches. Following this, a musical program takes place, where clapping, singing along, and dancing are explicitly encouraged.
