New Year's Eve hikes at the Mining Museum

The Mining Museum Mechernich once again invites you to the traditional New Year's Eve hike, which offers a deep insight into the over 2000-year history of lead ore mining in the region. Participants can choose between two guided circular routes: - Long hike: approx. 11 km - Short hike: approx. 5 km The routes pass by historical sites such as the Malakow Tower and the remains of the "Langer Emil," a chimney that once stood 134.6 meters tall. After the hike, there is the opportunity to wind down the year at the museum's barbecue hut with drinks and bratwurst. It is recommended to wear weather-appropriate clothing.
