The tour "Salt, Brine, and Moor" in the Westphalian Salt Worlds offers an in-depth insight into the geological and cultural significance of these natural substances. Participants will learn how salt and brine have shaped the region for over 250 million years and what role they played along the Hellweg. The tour highlights the historical salt extraction in Bad Sassendorf and its development into a spa town in the late 19th century. Additionally, the versatile use of sodium chloride in modern industry and medicine is addressed. The tour lasts about 1.5 hours.
