Human aging is a multifaceted process that requires interdisciplinary approaches for a comprehensive understanding. A purely deficit-oriented view of aging and the associated diseases is insufficient. The goal is to age healthily and competently. Chronological age is merely one of many factors that influence performance. The aspects that are crucial for successful aging are explained by gerontology. These insights will be presented during a lecture by Prof. Dr. Gabriele Hoppe, a professor at the International University of Applied Sciences Bochum. The event will take place at the Kulturscheune Bad Sassendorf.
