PianoPlus - Sundays at 5 at the Culture Station

The concert series "PianoPlus – Sundays at 5" at the KulturBahnhof Grevenbrück regularly presents outstanding musical performances. A special highlight is the concert for violin and piano featuring works by Robert Schumann and Sergei Prokofiev. The violinist Daria Ushakova, born in 1997 in Voronezh, Russia, began playing the violin at the age of five and made her debut as a soloist with an orchestra at the age of seven. After graduating from the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, she has been continuing her studies at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen since October 2025. She is a prizewinner of over 20 national and international competitions and has been a scholarship holder of the Werner Richard - Dr. Carl Dörken Foundation since June 2025. The pianist Georg Kjurdian, born in 1994 in Latvia, discovered his passion for the piano at the age of ten. At 18, he moved to Germany and studied, among others, with Henri Sigfridsson and Arnulf von Arnim at the Folkwang University in Essen. He is a prizewinner of international competitions, including the 14th Bach Competition in Leipzig. In early 2023, his debut CD featuring works by Bach, Beethoven, and Brahms was released. The concert series "PianoPlus – Sundays at 5" will continue in 2026 with additional dates.
