Special exhibition "Visions of Power"

The special exhibition "Visions of Power" at Vogelsang IP provides in-depth insights into the construction history of the NS Ordensburg Vogelsang from 1934 to 1937. Thanks to the donation of six photo albums from the family collection of Dieter and Peter Derichs in 2023, which contain around 700 previously unknown photographs, visitors can closely follow the construction phase in detail. These images comprehensively document the construction site and clarify many previously unanswered questions regarding the architecture and function of the facility. The exhibition exemplifies the reasons for the unrest and activism that prevailed from the very beginning during the planning and construction phases. Informative panels explain not only the construction and architecture but also the function of the facility and the development of Vogelsang into a National Socialist impressive backdrop. The exhibition is on display daily in the temporary exhibition space within the permanent exhibition of the NS Documentation.
