"Youth Without God"

Ödön von Horváth's novel "Youth Without God," published in 1937, explores the moral conflicts of a teacher in the rising National Socialism. He watches with concern the increasing brutality of his students. During a mandatory camping trip, he reads in the diary of a student who subsequently accuses a classmate of violating his privacy. The next morning, a student is found beaten to death. The production, directed by Andrea Pinkowski, is presented by the Poetenpack theater. The performance rights are held by the play publisher Korn Wimmer, Munich. The duration is approximately 85 minutes without an intermission. Recommended for audiences from grade 9 onwards.
