Copper Hammer Concert: Bernstein Trio

The Bernstein Trio, consisting of Roman Tulchynsky (violin), Marei Schibilsky (cello), and Julia Stephan (piano), was founded in 2022 and has since established itself as an outstanding ensemble. The musicians met at the Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach Music Gymnasium in Berlin and continue their studies at the University of the Arts Berlin and the Hanns Eisler School of Music Berlin. Under the guidance of Prof. Jonathan Aner, the trio has participated in renowned masterclasses and worked with artists such as Antoine Tamestit, Valentin Erben, and the Artemis Quartet. In the summer of 2023, the Bernstein Trio made its debut at the Rheingau Music Festival, where it was awarded the Promotion Prize by HA Hessen Agentur GmbH. At the German Music Competition 2024, the ensemble received a scholarship and was accepted into the concert promotion program. Additionally, it was honored with a special prize. In 2025, the trio won the 1st prize at the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy University Competition, along with several special prizes. Since 2022, the Bernstein Trio has been a member of the Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now Berlin association, and all members are scholarship holders of the German National Academic Foundation. The concert program "Atem(b)raubend" features works by Kelly-Marie Murphy, Richard Strauss, Dmitri Shostakovich, and Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy. The performance will take place in the historic setting of Haus Kupferhammer in Warstein, a venue known for its excellent acoustics and atmosphere. This concert offers a rare opportunity to experience an award-winning trio in an intimate setting and to be captivated by the virtuosity and passion of the musicians.
