Photo Practice: Hoheward Dump

The Horizon Observatory on the Hoheward spoil tip in Herten, with its impressive arches and the over eight-meter-high obelisk, provides an impressive backdrop for photographic studies. As part of the course, the architectural features of these structures will be explained in detail. The surroundings are ideal for landscape, portrait, and macro photography. Participants should bring a digital SLR camera with the modes P, Av/A, Tv/S, and M, as well as various lenses. Alternatively, modern smartphones with primary cameras that have multiple lenses can be used. The course will teach fundamental photographic concepts and assist with image composition. Basic knowledge of operating your own camera or smartphone is required. Please ensure that your devices are fully charged. The event will be led by Dr. Tom Fliege. Please note that the course involves approximately 100 meters of elevation gain. In case of unfavorable weather conditions, you will be notified about a possible rescheduling.
