Hike from Brambauer to the Heimat House Mengede

The planned hike from the LÜNTEC site in Brambauer to the Heimathaus Mengede offers a varied route through historical and nature-rich areas. The starting point is the parking lot of the LÜNTEC site. From there, the path follows the circular route A1 along the edge of Brambauer to the Klinik am Park. Afterwards, it continues over the Brambauer and Groppenbrucher heaps to the Dortmund-Ems Canal. After crossing the canal, the route leads through the Mengeder Volksgarten to the Heimathaus at Widum. There, participants can look forward to a special attraction: the virtual reconstruction of the former water castle Haus Mengede. Using modern technology, the castle can be experienced in both two-dimensional and three-dimensional formats, providing a fascinating insight into the past. After a cozy break in the historic rooms of the Heimathaus, the return trip to Brambauer will be by bus. A short walk of about one kilometer along the cable car route leads back to the starting point. The total distance is approximately 8 kilometers and can be completed in about 3 hours.
