Marktplatz, 31737 Rinteln

Experience a top-class festival: Once a year, the country road south of the Weser, from Bodenwerder to Rinteln, is closed to motor traffic. Then, for 55 kilometers, it’s “Free Ride for Muscle Power.” Cyclists, inline skaters, and skateboarders can let loose to their heart’s content. By combining fun, games, information, a sense of family, and a love for nature and physical activity, the event manages to excite both young and old year after year. The Rinteln market and church square transforms into a showcase for regional products as well as rural and historical crafts during the "Felgenfest im Wesertal" (Rim Festival in the Weser Valley) with a "Farmers' Market." The focus of the Rinteln Farmers' Market is direct marketing. Everything that local agriculture has to offer is available: freshly harvested fruits and vegetables, salad, honey, homemade sausages, meat from animal-friendly farming, and homemade bread. For garden enthusiasts, a diverse range of offerings is available. The selection ranges from well-known vegetable varieties to old crops preserved by enthusiasts. All of this is lovingly decorated at many colorful stalls, available for tasting on-site or for taking home to stock your pantry. Everything is of top quality, delivered fresh from the harvest on short supply chains and without elaborate packaging. Additionally, there is information about food and agricultural cultivation techniques from first-hand sources.
