Autumn fair

From October 31 to November 3, 2025, Rinteln on the Weser will once again be bustling with activity. The traditional autumn fair promises four days filled with fun, excitement, and entertainment in the midst of the historic old town. This well-known event was first held 633 years ago when Count Otto I of Holstein and Schaumburg granted the citizens of Rinteln the privilege to hold two free church fairs on the feast day of Saint Mary Magdalene. This tradition continues to this day. The fairs are undoubtedly Rinteln's number one image carrier and are considered an outstanding event in the fair landscape of the surrounding area.

The colorful fairground fascinates visitors at the market and church square. Fair fans can experience thrilling rides on attractions such as "Jumpstreet," "Shock Wave," "Dodgem Cars," and the "Music Express." A special highlight for visitors on the marketplace is the "Big Ben Tower" – a 40-meter-high chain flyer.

The beautiful pedestrian zone in Rinteln invites visitors to stroll and shop. In addition to local retailers, many market vendors have set up their stalls. And of course, culinary delights are not to be missed: pizza, crêpes, hot dogs, bratwurst, and fish sandwiches are just a small selection from the offerings. Roasted almonds, cotton candy, and candy apples attract sweet-toothed visitors. Thirst can be quenched at numerous beverage stands, and of course, the first mulled wine of the season will be available.

The official opening will take place on Friday, October 31, at 4:00 PM, by Mayor Andrea Lange, who will unveil the fair privilege from the year 1392 at the town hall (Pantry Anno 1583).

On November 2, it will be a Sunday of shopping. The shops in Rinteln's city center will be open from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

On Monday, it will be "Family Day" at the Rinteln fair. Starting at 2:00 PM, visitors can enjoy discounted carousel rides, along with additional offers from the showmen and women.

The Rinteln fair opens daily at 2:00 PM. Due to the Sunday shopping event, the fair will open at 1:00 PM on Sunday.

The event is largely wheelchair accessible.
