Between the pedestrian zone and the leisure harbor lies Ernst-Reuter-Platz, which is also known to locals as the "weekly market square." Here, the Leer weekly market takes place year-round on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM (except on public holidays). The weekly market offers a rich variety of fresh food such as fruits and vegetables, meat and fish, cheese, baked goods, honey, as well as flowers and other specialties in a wide selection from regional vendors, and in some cases directly from the producer. If events are held at Ernst-Reuter-Platz, the weekly market is located in the pedestrian zone at the memorial square. On public holidays, the weekly market is rescheduled!
