The marketplace is the heart of our town, lined with beautiful old gabled houses. Where merchants offered their goods 700 years ago, we still find a vibrant square for locals and visitors alike. There is always something happening here! The barrier-free tour lasts about 90 minutes and provides interesting insights into history and stories, as well as life in today's world. Winding alleys and the remnants of the old city fortifications, along with art that brings history into the urban landscape, spark curiosity. The team of tour guides is happy to take locals and guests on their tours and entertainingly and expertly explains how the bear became the emblematic animal of Esens and what significance Esens had in the past.
