Explore the history of two monasteries... Discover what has long been hidden beneath the grounds of the once largest monastery in the city, St. George... Follow in the footsteps of Abbot Albert of Stade, a chronicler and eyewitness of the Middle Ages, to Stade's only remaining monastery building. Even today, one can feel the special atmosphere in the courtyard of the former Franciscan monastery of St. John. Participants in the tour will gain an exclusive insight behind historical walls, as these rooms are usually closed to the public. Listen to the fascinating story and learn more about the varied uses of the old building. Pre-registration is required, as the number of participants is limited. Duration: approximately 1.5 hours. Notes: Good mobility and sturdy footwear are required. We kindly ask small groups of 10 or more people to book an individual group tour. The tour takes place in all weather conditions.
