Night Watchman Tour

Late at night, the night watchman makes his rounds through the old town. Those who wish to accompany him can join him on his watch. He checks to ensure that no one is lingering in the alleys after closing time and that everything is in order, as mischief often occurs in the dark. Along the way, the guide shares fascinating stories about Stade, its people, and the duties of the night watchman. Advance registration is required, as the number of participants is limited. The tour will only take place if the minimum number of participants is reached. Public dates: April to October, Thursdays at 9:00 PM Duration: approximately 2 hours Notes: Good mobility and sturdy footwear are required. We kindly ask small groups of 10 or more to book a private group tour. The tour takes place in all weather conditions.
