On this experiential hike with the ranger, you will learn about nature and history around what was once the largest dam in Germany. Today, the Oderteich is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Upper Harz Water Management System, and some of the oldest spruces in the Harz National Park grow along its shores. With a bit of luck, you might also spot the carnivorous sundew or the lively mountain wagtail here. The tour has hardly any significant inclines, but it does partially run on narrow boardwalks and root paths, so a certain level of sure-footedness is required in some places. Therefore, the tour is not suitable for strollers and small children. The event on May 31, 2025, is organized in collaboration with the Rammelsberg Mining Museum, the Old Town of Goslar, and the Upper Harz Water Management System, and will be jointly guided by a World Heritage guide and a ranger.
