Visitors to the city can expect an extraordinary experience: a guided tour that brings history to life. This special city tour takes guests on a captivating journey back to the year 1913. Two scenic walks make the past tangible and reveal the exciting story of the young city of Wilhelmshaven. The year 1913: World War I was not yet a threat, but Wilhelmshaven was already at the center of maritime power as the largest naval port of the German Empire. Since its founding in 1869, the residents had achieved remarkable things to transform an idea into a vibrant city. The first streetcar rolled through the streets, and the times when malaria dominated the headlines were long gone. Accompanied by two tour guides who slip into historical roles, participants become part of a lively performance. In captivating dialogues, the characters dive into the significant and minor events of their time, discussing politics and everyday life, thus making the atmosphere of that era palpable. An experience that makes the history of Wilhelmshaven come alive!

**1913 – Encounters with Herta and Luise**
Herta welcomes a visitor from the capital: her friend Luise. The curiosity about the changes of the last 15 years is great, and she brings exciting stories from the Berlin court. Thanks to her sister-in-law Claire von Gersdorf, a lady-in-waiting to Auguste-Victoria, Luise knows the latest gossip from the world of nobility. But not only court stories come to life; everyday life in Wilhelmshaven also becomes vivid and tangible.
**Dates:** May 1 & 8, June 6, 19 & 26, August 29, September 18 & 26

**1913 – Encounters with Otto and Jan**
The second walk focuses on the architectural development of Wilhelmshaven. Otto, the grandson of the famous Secret Senior Building Councilor Gotthilf Hagen, returns to assess the realization of his grandfather's plans. As a senior government building councilor in the Imperial Ministry of Transport, he is driven by vocation and curiosity. Together with the harbor master Jan, he explores the city, which he remembers from his childhood as a place of tireless work. Historical buildings, ambitious projects, and the connection between Berlin and Wilhelmshaven are the focus of this walk.
**Dates:** April 18 & 25, May 23, June 20, July 10 & 24, August 8 & 28, September 12, October 23
