Kristina Künzel – bagpipes, Nyckelharpa, Mark Kovnatskiy – violin, Ben Aschenbach – guitar, cittern. The musicians of Silja embark on "tradtuur" and celebrate the release of their album of the same name. Traditional music from Germany meets Klezmer and jazzy influences. Groovy dance pieces encounter ballads full of longing, baroque influences blend with down-to-earth melodies – a sensitive yet purposeful balancing act between tradition and modernity. New compositions by the individual musicians find their place here just as much as reinterpretations of traditional melodies. Throughout, the musical kinship of the different cultures is repeatedly highlighted.
