The market invites both large and small visitors, as in previous years, to discover the diversity of the region. Around 50 regional exhibitors are participating with their varied offerings, providing numerous opportunities to taste, enjoy, learn, and linger. The Worpswede Market Festival has a long tradition. This year, we once again showcase an amazing variety of what our rural region has to offer and invite Worpswede residents and guests to a day of discovery of regional diversity in crafts, food producers, and delicacies. The farmers' market entices with the aroma of freshly brewed organic coffee and baked specialties, golden honey from Demeter production, and various fruit spreads. Different regional specialties of meat, fish, and cheese, as well as a colorful selection of organic wines, are ready for tasting. In addition to old apple varieties and regional vegetables, olive and sausage specialties are offered. For those with a big appetite, there are bratwursts and fresh pasta dishes, as well as coffee and cake to choose from. At the stand of the solidarity-based farming businesses from Worpswede and Lüninghausen, prospective members can learn how they can receive their share of fresh vegetables directly from the neighboring field throughout the entire growing season. A selection of moor products—from bread to coffee—as well as juice specialties from a regional cider mill leave no culinary wishes unfulfilled. The coffee roastery Utamtsi from Worphausen presents its hand-harvested premium coffee, wild-grown in the highlands of Cameroon and Uganda. It comes from direct, fair trade. The Spice Island invites you to an unforgettable (cooking) experience with around 350 spices. With 35 varieties of pepper and 40 types of salt, various spice blends, and numerous herbs, it inspires not only hobby cooks. High-quality tanned goat and rabbit skins lie alongside hand-dyed wool, inviting you to knit warm wool clothing for the winter. Flower crowns and small arrangements for your home, turned woodwork for decoration, and handmade items like bags and toys for the little ones complete the offerings.
