Once a year, the peat boat skippers meet between Gnarrenburg and Osterholz-Scharmbeck in the late hours to make the special nighttime atmosphere over the moor experienceable from the peat boat. This has become somewhat of a tradition and is considered by many to be the highlight of the peat boat season. At various landing spots in the Teufelsmoor, excursion-hungry guests equipped with lights set off for a trip on the Hamme. At the landing spots, music and good food invite everyone to enjoy together. Each of the participating excursion venues adds a different musical and culinary touch. There is also music on board – the journey through the night is accompanied by accordion or guitar sounds. The HammeNacht connects the following landing spots in a newly created schedule each year: Hafen Osterholz-Scharmbeck, Melchers Hütte, Hammehafen (Worpswede), Teufelsmoorschleuse, Viehspecken (at the Landgasthaus Dierks), Kreuzkuhle.
