World of Threads: Tapestries of Modernity - Museum of Fine Arts Leipzig

The exhibition "World of Threads" at the Museum of Fine Arts Leipzig showcases over 50 impressive tapestries and provides a fascinating overview of the development of tapestry art. From traditional Baroque wall hangings to contemporary works based on designs by artists such as Louise Bourgeois, Max Ernst, and Sonia Delaunay, a multifaceted dialogue unfolds between art and craft. The permanent collection of the MdbK includes over 4,600 paintings, 1,800 sculptures, medals, and plaques, more than 5,000 photographs, as well as over 70,000 paper works spanning seven centuries.
