Originally, during the winter months, women and girls would gather in spinning rooms. While the spinning wheels hummed, the girls recited poems and sang folk songs. Experience how the women of the village – just like in old times – still come together today, sharing coffee and cake while engaging in various handicrafts, exchanging stories, and perhaps singing a beautiful old folk song. Look forward to two entertaining hours at Katrin Wiesner's farm shop café, not only to admire the handicrafts but also to have good conversations. Our traditional costume wearers will also provide information about Sorbian traditions and life in the Spreewald.
