"Cara - Celtic Folk Music"

CARA is a multinational Celtic folk band that has won two Irish Music Awards. The musicians enjoy an excellent reputation for their innovative arrangements, original compositions, and songwriting, as well as their virtuosic performances and charismatic stage presence. They create their own sound, with the voices of the two singers, Gudrun Walther and Kim Edgar, at the center. The vocal range spans from dreamy ballads to archaic Gaelic mouth music, as well as original songs with contemporary socio-political relevance, with the two lead singers complementing each other with dreamlike precision. The songs alternate with fast-paced instrumental pieces that thrive on the virtuoso interplay of fiddle and Uilleann pipes. The Irish bagpipes, which have been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage, are played by Simon Pfisterer.
