Under his direction, the Brandenburg State Orchestra Frankfurt will first focus on a contemporary work by Alissa Firsova. As a pianist and conductor, she has conquered concert halls worldwide. As a composer, she is one of the current stars of classical music. "Bergen's Bonfire" is inspired by an apocalyptic dream. Rimsky-Korsakov's Symphony No. 3 also transports us into a dream world. In contrast, Rachmaninoff's 3rd Piano Concerto has a more ambivalent mood. It begins in melancholic D minor, only to end in a nearly hymnic finale in D major.
