Music from the South

"Music from the South" Under this motto, the duo Katrin Ambrosius / Violin and Thomas Etschmann / Guitar combines emotional and captivating sounds from Spain, Italy, and Argentina, navigating the tension between folklore, Bossa Nova, and classical music. In the concert, violin virtuoso Katrin Ambrosius and master guitarist Thomas Etschmann take the audience into the suggestive sound worlds of George Bizet's "Carmen Fantasy," journey through Spain with the musical landscape descriptions "Danzas espanolas" by Enrique Granados and Isaac Albeniz. The highly virtuosic works of Manuel de Falla and Niccolo Paganini round off the program, along with the music of the master of the bandoneon, Astor Piazzolla. The musical legacy of composer Hermann Ambrosius, the grandfather of the violinist, will be brought to life with a short composition.
