18. Water Festivities

On June 26 and 27, 2026, the shores of the North Beach at the Spremberg Dam will traditionally become the center of water sports in the region. For the 18th time, it will be the venue for the international dragon boat regatta. Dozens of teams will compete on Saturday for the coveted trophies, surrounded by popular fun competitions such as dragon boat tug-of-war and bathtub races. The long-distance cup is particularly spectacular: 2000 meters in a triangular course across the reservoir and back. In the evening, a Roland Kaiser tribute act will get the dancers fired up at the legendary beach party. Before that, on Friday evening, the reservoir will be illuminated: for the night race, teams will compete with illuminated paddles, boats, and buoys. There will also be plenty of entertainment for the youngest visitors, including a bouncy castle, pony rides, face painting, a craft station, and a youth fire brigade.
