On a decisive night, the outsiders Michael and Laura come together. Their mutual friend Mathe has died, and this loss has changed them. Laura has withdrawn into herself, while Michael is planning his escape: At midnight, he will turn sixteen, and then he wants to leave the city and shed the burden of the past. He wanders around, spraying graffiti messages – a silent, rebellious tribute to Mathe. Laura catches him in the act. Reluctantly, Michael allows her to accompany him. The two are strangers, connected by memory and their loneliness. Amidst mockery, rejection, and tentative closeness, they discover a freedom that arises from the courage to see themselves and each other differently. The play, awarded the special prize of the German Youth Theatre Prize in 2020, shows how hope can emerge from grief and new strength from loss.
