State Theatre Cottbus: In Hiding | Premiere

Two-part ballet evening with choreographies by Inma López and Douglas Lee (premiere) Inspired by the Japanese practice of Kintsugi, co-ballet director Inma López explores individuality and the value of breaks and wounds in her choreography. Kintsugi reassembles broken pieces through elaborate and lengthy processes, without hiding the fractures. On the contrary, they stand out as golden veins, making the unique item truly valuable. In the second part, internationally active choreographer Douglas Lee raises questions about the visible and the hidden in theatrical practice. What remains unseen yet plays a role? What comes into the spotlight, and what happens behind the scenes in the dark? Theater has many layers, and each has its own story.
