KAP meets Alina Ibragimova & Kristian Bezuidenhout

"He is the Mozart of the 19th century, the brightest musician who sees through the contradictions of the time most clearly and reconciles them first," noted Robert Schumann about the twelve-year-old Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, who would write his Double Concerto for Violin and Piano just two years later. Although Mendelssohn already plays with groundbreaking ideas here, the music still clearly breathes the spirit of the Viennese Classical period. It is therefore no surprise that pianist Kristian Bezuidenhout will frame the Double Concerto, which he will perform alongside the internationally acclaimed violinist Alina Ibragimova, with two special works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
