At least, that’s how it seems. But the longer his stay lasts, the more the time traveler must realize: The beautiful facade is deceptive. Deep underground, in pitch-black tunnels between roaring machines, a second society exists. And the beings on the surface? They are nothing more than food for them. Nothing but escape. But where is the time machine? With THE TIME MACHINE, H.G. Wells created the first novel in literary history in which a human travels to the future using technical means – entirely without God or higher powers.
