The Ice Sports Hall at Salzgitter Lake
The Ice Sports Hall in Salzgitter-Lebenstedt was opened in 1978 and features a large ice surface of 30 x 60 meters, meeting international standard dimensions. The two grandstands can accommodate up to 1,600 spectators. The ice skating season begins annually at the end of September and ends in early April. In addition to established offerings such as skating times for schools, clubs, kindergartens, and the public, the Super Disco, held on the second Friday of each month, is also one of the regular events. During the season, the Ice Sports Hall is also a top venue for ice hockey and figure skating. The curling has proven to be a "long-running hit": on Mondays and Fridays from 6:30 PM, companies, clubs, or private groups can take part in this social event. Even in the summer months, there is no quiet: the hall becomes a venue for music and sports events, fairs, and exhibitions for up to 3,100 visitors.
