The exhibition "make the secrets productive!" at the Kunstmuseum Kolumba in Cologne addresses the question of what substantial contribution art can make in today's crisis-ridden world. Under the guiding motif of Joseph Beuys' quote "Every human being is an artist," the role of culture as a systemically relevant force in democracy is called into question. The show illuminates the balance between individual fates and global mechanisms and provides space for reflection on the potentials of utopia and the power of reason. Here, art becomes a medium for engaging with the pain points of the present as well as a catalyst for the freedom of thought and spiritual experience.
