Tidenkieker Special Trip Nature and Industry

Special trip with the "Tidenkieker," which allows for nature observation and explains industrial development. The tides, the powerful pulse of the sea, shape the landscape along the Lower Elbe. Thousands of sports skippers, captains of gigantic container ships, and Elbe fishermen on their cutters orient themselves according to the tides, as the locals refer to ebb and flow. From the deck of the flat-bottomed vessel 'Tidenkieker,' you can experience this unique tidal landscape up close, accompanied by experts on the Lower Elbe, and learn about the background of nature and the tidal landscape. This special trip will also explain selected industrial enterprises and their development from the water's perspective. On board the flat-bottomed vessel, there will be insights into the work of these companies as well as the development of the location. 550 hectares of industrial area are located along the Elbe in Stade. Here, valuable materials are produced and processed that play a significant role in everyday life. These materials find applications in various industries, to name just a few examples: medicine, food, textile, and clothing industry. It is very impressive to see how industry and nature coexist side by side here.
