There is probably no more beautiful place for a Christmas market in all of Christmasland than around the town hall in Pirna. Inspired by the Italian painter Canaletto, who honored the sandstone city in 11 famous views, the Canalettomarkt, the Pirna Christmas market, has been held here since 2013. It is one of the few markets in the country that remains open even after the holidays. For some, the Canalettomarkt, known for its unique lighting concept and wonderful projections on the town hall, is still a hidden gem. For others, especially families and the many guests from the Czech Republic, it has long been one of the most beautiful Christmas markets in Saxony.
