It is considered one of the most beautiful not only in Saxony but also in Germany: the Christmas market at the Königstein Fortress. The elaborately staged spectacle high above the Elbe attracts visitors with traditional goods, ancient craftsmanship, handmade music, puppet theater, and real animals in the nativity scene. Part of the market takes place in underground sandstone vaults. The SterneDom: a magical sound and light experience. Countless Herrnhut stars illuminate the Dark Apparatus, the historic fortress entrance, with atmospheric light and create a mystical atmosphere in the sandstone vaults filled with Gregorian sounds. Dates: on all four Advent weekends (Saturday & Sunday).
