Herb Saturday in the Nature Park: Awakening Spring

It is the time around Candlemas, and the days are already noticeably getting longer. Even in pre-Christian times, the custom of driving out winter and welcoming summer was known, which likely dates back to the pagan New Year celebration. This was primarily common in Slavic countries. At this time, only the seasons of summer and winter were recognized. Together with herbal educator Britt Muschert from Hollerhof Dahnsdorf, the old custom is to be revived and the winter's counterpart, the sun goddess, awakened. This can be achieved with incense and tree tapping. Of course, we will also greet the awakening spring with egg sayings and egg liqueur. An old custom that is a lot of fun. We will also look for the first fresh herbs and grind them into a herbal salt, which we will enjoy together on fresh bread in honor of Frau Sunna. Registration by January 26 is necessary.
