Alexander Krichel, Piano Franz Schubert: Piano Sonata No. 13 in A Major Op. 120 / D 664 Felix Mendelssohn: Variations sérieuses Op. 54 Sergei Rachmaninoff: Variations on a Theme by Corelli Op. 42 Sergei Prokofiev: Piano Sonata No. 7 in B Major Op. 83 The pianist Alexander Krichel is the "Artist in Residence" of the BSOF for the 2025/26 season. He has recorded seven solo albums to date – featuring works by Modest Mussorgsky, George Enescu, Beethoven, Mozart, Ravel, Chopin, Schumann, and Liszt. All of these solo projects have been enthusiastically received by critics. His two Rachmaninoff albums have been particularly praised, showcasing Krichel's "approach of classical clarity." The more recent of the two albums is titled "My Rachmaninoff" and includes, among other pieces, the Corelli Variations, which the pianist will present in this recital on the concert grand in the atrium of the Frankfurt City Hall – alongside works by Schumann, Mendelssohn, and Prokofiev.
