Chamber music in orchestral sound: With the nonets presented here, musicians of the Brandenburg State Orchestra Frankfurt dedicate themselves to works that, like a magnifying glass, summarize the musical creations of their composers. In Nino Rota's "Nonetto," his characteristic sensitive melody formation and Mediterranean flair combine to create one of the most elegant works of chamber music of the 20th century. The first version of this piece was created in 1959 – the same year as Bohuslav Martinů's Nonet No. 2, which he completed shortly before his death.
