The Big Band of the BSOF has gained a large following with its captivating programs. For the concert at the Frankfurt City Festival, it invites saxophonist and bandleader Rolf von Nordenskjöld as a special guest this time. In addition to his teaching position at the Leipzig University of Music, Rolf von Nordenskjöld has made a name for himself as a composer, arranger, bandleader, and soloist. He has performed with the RIAS Big Band, among others, and is the leader of the Rolf von Nordenskjöld Orchestra. He has also conducted the Big Band of the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Robert Schumann Philharmonic Chemnitz, and his university, collaborated with the orchestra of the Friedrichstadt-Palast, and participates in numerous duo and trio formations. With the BSOF Big Band, he will dedicate himself to popular swing and jazz classics at this summer open-air event.
