Fülmer Plum Market

The Fülmer Plum Market, a traditional festival in the Fülme-Eisbergen district of the city of Porta Westfalica, celebrates the sweet, blue fruit every year. Since its founding in 1973 by the folk dance group Porta Westfalica, the festival has developed into a popular event that attracts visitors from the entire region. On the historic schoolyard of Fülme, guests can expect a diverse program. A highlight is the Espenschaukel, which swings on ten-meter-long ropes between the poplars, delighting both children and adults. Traditional games such as plum pit spitting, the bowling alley, and plum throwing provide entertainment for the whole family. Special prizes, including a new bicycle, await the winners of these competitions. Another highlight is the contest for the heaviest and most original potato, where the winners each receive a twelve-meter-long chain of Mettwurst. The tombola, organized by a charming gentleman in a top hat, offers numerous attractive prizes.

For culinary delights, there is plenty to enjoy: homemade cakes and tortes in the cafeteria, hearty sausages, fresh waffles, and refreshing drinks are available. A special highlight is the Vauki-Mix, a drink prepared according to a secret recipe, created specifically for the Plum Market. The dedicated volunteers who have been organizing the festival for over 50 years look forward to welcoming many visitors and spending an unforgettable afternoon celebrating the plum together.
