On September 5, 2026, it will finally be time again: the stage is set for the MDR HARZ OPEN AIR in Bürgerpark Wernigerode. The popular late summer open-air event for young and old guests is back, and the lineup is confirmed. After the traditional family program for the youngest guests in the afternoon, followed by a regional band that MDR SACHSEN-ANHALT is giving a big stage to, visitors can look forward to the top acts of the evening. The MDR HARZ OPEN AIR 2026 will once again be hosted by Susi Brandt, presenter of the TV magazine MDR SACHSEN-ANHALT HEUTE, and her radio colleague Lars Wohlfarth, the morning presenter for MDR SACHSEN-ANHALT.

THE BOSSHOSS – Live on stage, The BossHoss offers an unforgettable, explosively energetic experience – pure power that captivates! When the seven charismatic capital city cowboys, led by the two frontmen Alec "Boss Burns" Völkel and Sascha "Hoss Power" Vollmer, take the stage, rock 'n' roll fans get their money's worth. With the sound of their brand-new album "Back To The Boots," they return live to their musical roots: rough, raw, and more honest than ever. Coupled with their greatest hits like "Don't Gimme That," "Dos Bros," "Do It," "Jolene," and many more, the band leaves no wishes unfulfilled. Here, live rock is played without compromise. "Back To The Boots" is a tribute to their own beginnings – musically, stylistically, and live. Their sound: modern, internationally inspired country rock right in the midst of the current genre revival, celebrated worldwide by acts like Beyoncé, Post Malone, and Shaboozey. The BossHoss authentically rides this wave with great enthusiasm and brings their unmistakable mix of country, Americana, and southern rock. Of course, this includes the spectacular single "I'll Be Back" featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger. The band's pure authenticity, combined with sweat-inducing rock and their unmistakable raw charm, is what captivates the crowd. Back to the Roots, BACK TO THE BOOTS!

MARQUESS – They are known for translating the power of the sun into exotic pop songs. In 2023, Marquess kicked off their personal "Energía" turn for their anniversary album: they present expansive melodies and passionate summer anthems under the fitting album title "Energía" – seven letters that can be understood in every corner of the world without a dictionary. Exotic pop and sunny Latin sounds are their domain: What began with early superhits like "El Temperamento" (2006) and "Vayamos Compañeros" led Marquess to the top 10 in 11 European countries, even reaching number 1 in some (including Switzerland, Greece, Poland, and the Czech Republic). They have also received plenty of gold and platinum records, with sales in the millions for the three guys, who are particularly committed to promoting equal opportunities in the music industry. Celebrated live for their party qualities, Sascha Pierro, Christian Fleps, and Dominik Decker perform every year in front of hundreds of thousands and turn every dance floor into a lively Latin fiesta. The tour for their 20th anniversary will take place in 2026 and will also bring them to Wernigerode.

GEORGI GOGOW – DER WILDE GARTEN – consists of a violin, two guitars, three exceptional musicians – and a musical garden that couldn't be wilder. Georgi "Joro" Gogow, legendary devil's fiddler and bassist of the cult band CITY ("Am Fenster") and founder of the rock band NO55, invites you to an extraordinary concert with DER WILDE GARTEN. Since 1997, DER WILDE GARTEN has been a refuge for professional musicians who experiment musically away from the mainstream – world music meets rock, groove meets improvisation. A live experience that transcends genres, captivates the audience, and surprises time and again. Joining them are the expressive volcanic voice Karolina "Karo" Blasek and the guitar fire of Kai-Uwe Scheffler. She brings the fire to the voice, he brings the shine to the sound. Together, the three bring the wild garden to bloom – full of energy, unbridled joy of playing, and surprising sounds. Supported by additional musicians, a powerful sound emerges that captivates the audience. DER WILDE GARTEN is like an unexpected storm: it comes suddenly, stays long in the mind – and hits straight to the heart.

MUSIC FROM OUR LAND is once again presented by MDR SACHSEN-ANHALT at the MDR HARZ OPEN AIR. In 2026, an act from Saxony-Anhalt will also have the chance to present itself on the big stage in Bürgerpark Wernigerode. For the little guests and their families, there will be a band for the youngest with the best live music at the start of the show in the afternoon. The MDR HARZ OPEN AIR also stands for the best current pop music and great hits from the past in 2026, appealing to a broad audience, both the local population and tourist guests in the Harz region. In the natural setting of Bürgerpark and against the backdrop of Wernigerode Castle, various program points for children, families, and all music-loving fans will take place on stage. The program will again be hosted by Susi Brandt, presenter of the TV magazine MDR SACHSEN-ANHALT HEUTE, and MDR SACHSEN-ANHALT radio presenter Lars Wohlfarth, just like in 2024. Spend an unforgettable evening with us, our partners, the presenters, and the artists in Bürgerpark Wernigerode. Tickets will be available from Monday, September 22, 2025, at all Reservix advance sales outlets and in the tourist information centers of Wernigerode, Schierke, Halberstadt, and Blankenburg.
