Home and Costume Festival of the Office of Burg (Spreewald)

A weekend filled with many cultural highlights, featuring a colorful variety of traditional costumes and a crafts and fairground market. The program is diverse and caters to both young and old. On the festival stage, a vibrant show of folklore, brass, rock, and pop music, dance, and acrobatics takes place. The youth demonstrate the harvest tradition of rooster plucking. The highlight is the grand traditional parade on Sunday at 2 PM. Of course, visitors have plenty of opportunities to sample the culinary specialties of the Spreewald, learn about regional craftsmanship, and admire the diverse traditional costumes. Thus, the homeland and costume festival is an expression of the joy of life of the Spreewald inhabitants, who reflect on their cultural roots while simultaneously opening themselves up to new experiences.
