Christian Redl "Life Has No Handrail" / Lower Lusatian Crime Nights

Christian Redl, known as Commissioner Thorsten Krüger in the Spreewald Crime series, has documented his life in the autobiography "Life Has No Handrail": honest, sincere, and unvarnished. Growing up in the 1950s under the care of a war-traumatized father, he pursued an acting career against his parents' wishes. Unflinchingly critical of himself, he shares in a conversation with Dagmar Perschke his restless search for success and recognition, dangerous relationships, and the power of alcohol, as well as moments of euphoria and despair. He also speaks of a fulfilling late love that he had not expected. Christian Redl, born in 1948, studied at the Westphalian School of Drama in Bochum and subsequently worked at various theaters, including the Wuppertal Bühnen, the Städtische Bühnen Frankfurt am Main, Theater Bremen, and Schauspielhaus Hamburg.
