Gallery Window – Exhibitions featuring works by Christiane Bergelt and Mathias Bertram

On Sunday, two new exhibitions will be opened. In our upper rooms, we will showcase photographs by Mathias Bertram under the title "Gallery of the Street." Additionally, in our cabinet on the ground floor, there will be paintings by Christiane Bergelt under the title "Trip." Mathias Bertram, born in 1960 in Berlin, has become well-known as an editor and designer of books on East German photography. For over ten years, he has been capturing surreal images and structures at the roadside in Berlin and during his travels with his camera. His photographs remove trivial objects from their natural context. Christiane Bergelt was born in 1982 in Marienberg/Saxony. She received her Master of Arts in Fine Art & Painting from Chelsea College of Art in London and studied Free Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg. Scholarships have enabled her to undertake work stays in Iceland and at Schloss Wiepersdorf in Brandenburg.
