RangerTour: From the Small River to the Great River

The landscape of the Elbe shapes the region around Lenzen. Wet meadows, moors, floodplain forests, a richly structured field area with old oaks, diverse hedges, and a small river. The Löcknitz brushes past the tranquil little town, winding through the surrounding villages and flowing into the Elbe in the Mecklenburg Elbe Valley. We accompany it for a part of its journey, marveling at colorful kingfishers, passing through avenues and expansive grasslands, until we reach the Elbe in Mödlich. A quaint village with impressive hall houses and beautiful floodplain landscapes. After a short break, we return along the dike to Lenzen. Accompanied by birdsong, fluttering butterflies, and the great river. With a bit of luck, the sea eagle circles above. Binoculars recommended. Snack options available.
