Senne Festival for the Heather Bloom

The "Senne Festival for Heather Blossom" is an annual event that highlights the unique landscape of the Senne and its conservation efforts. Organized by the Biological Station Paderborn – Senne e.V. on the grounds of the Heidschnucken sheep farm in Hövelhof, the festival offers a diverse program. Visitors can experience Heidschnucken up close, enjoy regional specialties, and admire traditional craftsmanship. Guided hikes through the nearby nature reserve "Moosheide" provide insights into the region's flora and fauna. Additionally, numerous exhibitions and market stalls inform about topics such as heathland management and conservation. Interactive activities and games ensure entertainment for all age groups. The festival is supported by funding from the LWL Nature Fund and the LEADER region Senne³.
