Renate Bergmann is making a break: Out of Berlin and into the supposed tranquility of rural life in Brandenburg, specifically Spreeweide... Hardly has she arrived when she clashes with Mayor Brummer. "Why don't you run for office yourself!" is something you don't have to tell her twice. At 82 years old, with Adenauer, the Americans, and Renate Bergmann, things are just getting started. It doesn't take long before Renate's campaign poster is hanging on every village lamp post. Before you know it, Renate is right in the middle of the election campaign, albeit without an official car and bodyguard, but with Koyota, Gertrud, Kurt, and Ilse. Mayor Brummer better watch out! We would vote for Renate!
